What we collect

WorkLifeSleep is built to collect as little personal data as possible.

  • Tool inputs (Balance Audit, Joy Audit, etc.): stored anonymously. We hash your IP address with a site-specific salt before storing it, only to detect duplicate submissions for aggregate stats. We do not link tool inputs to your name, email, or any other identifier.
  • Newsletter signups: email address only. Used to send essays and updates. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
  • Contributor submissions: name, email, optional bio, website, and the essay itself. Used to review and contact you about your submission.
  • Server logs: standard web server access logs (IP, user agent, request URL). Retained for 30 days for security purposes.

Cookies

We use a small session cookie (WLSSESSID) only when you submit a form, to prevent CSRF attacks. We do not set tracking cookies of our own.

If we add Google AdSense or Google Analytics in the future, those services may set their own cookies — we'll update this page when that happens, and you'll see a consent prompt.

Sharing

We don't sell your data. We don't share it with third parties for marketing. We use SendGrid as our email provider, so any email you give us passes through their servers in order to be delivered to your inbox.

Your rights

You can request a copy of any data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@worklifesleep.com. We respond within 30 days.

The Sunday essay

One reflection a week.

A short essay on work, life, or sleep, sent Sunday morning. No spam. Unsubscribe anytime.

A note on the philosophy

Work is contribution to others — paid or unpaid. Life is receiving from others — paid or unpaid. Sleep is restoration. The triangle holds when each side is honoured.
